Q. How do I order an Extend-A-Room?
Stage 1 - Quote: We will call out and prepare a quote taking your ideas, our product knowledge and site conditions in to account.
Stage 2 - Contract: If you decide to proceed we will prepare and provide you with a contract of works.
Stage 3 - Technical Survey: A second set of measurements are taken to double check (measure twice – build once). If planning permission is required, the details will be taken at this stage. We usually take care of the application forms and drawings etc.
Stage 4 - Delivery and Build: We manufacture the steel components and order the roof and wall frames , made to measure. A day or so prior to the build date will be set aside to deliver the new room and the builders will then arrive and get straight on with the work.
Q. How long will it all take?
From point of contract, it would usually take four to six weeks. Only 5% of our customers require planning permission and that will add to the lead time by around eight weeks.
Q. How much will it cost?
Each project is different. The bigger and more complicated the design, the more expensive it will be. As we make each room to fit a specific site we need to survey each site to assess the land conditions and drainage issues etc.
Q. Is it cheaper or dearer than other companies?
Because we advertise in the national press, we regularly quote against large national companies. Typically we are much cheaper than them. It is unlikely that you will find a better price for this type of quality.
Q. Why should I choose Extend-A-Room?
Because you will probably get more than you expect for less than you expect.
Q. Do you do supply only?
No we only supply and build. We have developed our own system, it is not a DIY option.
Q. Where do you operate?
All across England and Wales. 70% of our work is in the Southeast regions.
Q. What is the background/ make up of the company and how big are you?
Extend-A-Room is a privately owned limited company. Craig Miller is the founder and managing director and his wife Lorraine is also a director and company secretary running the accounts function of the business. The company sold approx’ 1000 new rooms in 2007. Extend-A-Room is a company you can trust with no debt, no loans, no overdraft and no silent partners.
The business operates its head office from its Harrogate base in North Yorkshire. The manufacturing factory is in Accrington, Lancashire and the national distribution hub is in Telford in the West Midlands. Extend-A-Room covers all of mainland England and Wales.
Craig has been awarded the prestigious award for ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR - 2008, Yorkshire and Humberside by the IOD (Institute Of Directors).
