Mrs Hughes and her daughter from Llanfairwell Pwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, in North Wales were looking to increase the size of their terraced cottage. Having responded to an advert they saw for Extend a Room, they were soon looking at the company’s latest brochure. They were able to see the large range of conservatories the company has installed not only in Llanfairwell Pwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, in North Wales, but all over the UK. Having viewed Edwardian and Victorian conservatories, Mrs Hughes decided that she preferred a lean to conservatory style to complement her cottage.
The challenge

A frequently encountered challenge when considering any lean to conservatory installation to the rear of a terraced dwelling is the need to be able to transport all the sunroom components, namely the steel bases, upvc window frames, door and roof, through the property to the site beyond.  Large components simply cannot be accommodated by the low doorways and narrow hall typically encountered in older cottage type buildings.

Also, when considering the sunroom design, the width and projection or depth required needs careful consideration so that the resulting lean to conservatory is in keeping with the appearance of the cottage and the surrounding area.

Extend-A-Room has built many conservatories and sunrooms in North Wales and Anglesey, so the company can rely on many years experience of design and installation to provide the technical know-how to satisfy the customer’s needs.

Mrs Hughes wanted her new sunroom to have an attractive rosewood finish, rather than the more usual white.  She felt this would blend in with the surroundings perfectly.

The solution

The company’s surveyor made careful measurements at the site. Thus before the factory was instructed to begin fabrication, there was complete certainty that the sunroom materials could be easily led through the cottage once delivered.

At this cottage in Llanfairwell Pwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, in North Wales, careful attention was paid to the existing height of the cottage walls.  Fortunately, Mrs Hughes’ wish for a lean to conservatory style could be achieved, and any height issue was easily overcome by adapting the design of her sunroom.

The factory was easily able to manufacture in rosewood finish for Mrs Hughes’ new conservatory.

The result

Mrs Hughes and her daughter of Llanfairwell Pwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, in North Wales are delighted with their new lean to conservatory.  They’ve increased their property size without moving home, and have a lovely garden room to enjoy family life in.  Not only that, they’ve increased the value of their home, too.
