Mrs Walker and her family live in Cornwall. As her family grew, she realised that she needed extra space to incorporate a new dining room area. She wanted to extend her family home with a beautiful new upvc lean to conservatory. Extend a Room made her wish come true late last year.
The challenge
A common challenge when constructing sunrooms is to ensure that the new conservatory will harmonise with the existing property and its surroundings. With the endless variations in size, design and landscape of each garden, a large part of the planning of a new sunroom is considering how well the sunroom will look in situ.
The narrow lanes of Cornwall create their own delivery difficulties. Mrs Walker’s location is in a fairly rural area. The Extend a Room logistics team works carefully to make sure that the base works, frames, glass and roof systems can be delivered by a Transit sized carrier. The entire conservatory has to be delivered to site in as few journeys as possible to help keep the conservatory price competitive.
The solution
The outstanding scenery around her home in Cornwall is what brought Mrs Walker to this part of the country. Although she required extra space, she preferred not to move house. This beautiful sunroom was designed to provide the dining room that Mrs Walker and her family really needed. Their new conservatory is somewhere to relax whilst enjoying their evening meal and family time. They can enjoy their lovely garden whilst still indoors.
The company’s unique steel base system was used in this installation, pre-fabricated carefully in their factory to bespoke measurements. A great success story, this system has now been installed in thousands of sunrooms not only in Cornwall but all over the country. The conservatory wall frames needed to be in single sections for the delivery. Once on site, the two go together to construct an upvc and steel structure with immense strength and stability.
The result
There are many upvc conservatories in Cornwall but Mrs Walker and her family are very pleased with their own bespoke sunroom. It gives the family the dining room required at a conservatory price to suit their pocket.
