Mr and Mrs Wright from Wakefield in North Yorkshire had a beautiful home and garden. However, Mrs Wright dreamt of a having a stunning sunroom installed. Her husband did not agree, as he couldn’t bear the idea of any disruption! As you can see, the Wrights did indeed end up with this beautiful new conservatory. Read on, and find out how the husband and wife both got what they wanted, from Extend a Room.
The challenge
This was an unusual case for the company. Typically, couples will have both agreed on the principle of getting a new sunroom. Usually, there is a lot of discussion about style, location and size. Not the case with Mr & Mrs Wright; he was adamant that there wouldn’t be any sunroom. He did not want any mess, upheaval, or disruption to his lovely home. Mrs Wright, on the other hand, knew that a new sunroom would give them additional space to have an extra room to dine in, or to relax in. She knew about the health giving benefits of extra space created by a conservatory, located peacefully overlooking the garden and filled with natural sunlight the whole year through. Not only that, it would increase the value of their property, for a modest price! Extend a Room’s designer really needed to work hard together with Mrs Wright to convince her husband that her dream could come true- without causing any distress to him!
The solution
The company’s designer started from the beginning, showing Mr Wright from Wakefield in North Yorkshire a very different way of installing a beautiful new Edwardian conservatory without any mess or upset. It all lies within the company’s unique steel base system. This method of construction allows the conservatory base to be installed with minimal mess and in only a couple of hours. Forget old fashioned foundation digging, with weeks of stress and upset! The company uses modern construction methods to build a room quickly, in this case in only 2 days, start to finish!
The steel base is constructed at the company’s factory, and then disassembled prior to delivery to the site in Wakefield, North Yorkshire. Concrete pads are laid in the ground at the site, with steel plates atop them. The steel base is then installed onto the steel plates, with the weight being distributed evenly by the block and beam method. The careful engineering calculations made earlier ensure that the steel base is more than strong enough to support the weight of the new Edwardian conservatory.
Once the base is fitted, the window frames are installed and finally the beautiful vaulted Edwardian conservatory roof.
Mr Wright from Wakefield in North Yorkshire could now see exactly how this Edwardian conservatory could IMPROVE his quality of life, rather than the reverse!
The result
All’s well that ends well in Mr and Mrs Wright’s house in Wakefield, North Yorkshire. Mrs Wright got the Edwardian conservatory that she had dreamed of, and Mr Wright was able to see the whole installation was carried out in only 2 days! It’s been exactly what the company said they would do, and much more.
As they relax together in their new light filled sunroom, gazing out over their garden, they can surely agree that they are BOTH delighted with the result they got from Extend a Room.
