Mr and Mrs Brown and their family from Worthing in West Sussex wanted to increase the living space at their family home with a beautiful new conservatory, without the upheaval and expense of moving house. This stunning new Edwardian conservatory was installed in the middle of last year.
The challenge
A common challenge when constructing any style of sunroom is to ensure that the resulting conservatory blends in well with the existing area, and harmonises with the garden too. The area chosen for this Edwardian conservatory had been totally unused before the company’s designer and surveyor helped with the sunroom lay-out at the site in Worthing, West Sussex.
Mr & Mrs Brown’s conservatory was to be built onto their bungalow, which typically has relatively low walls and ceilings. This brings some challenges to the design.
Water drainage also needs to be taken into consideration, particularly in the area where the water coming down from the bungalow roof joins the Edwardian conservatory roof.
The solution
Extend a Room can rely on the expertise gained from installing many thousands of conservatories, not just locally to the Browns in Worthing and West Sussex, but all over the UK.
To combat the water drainage challenges the company have designed an unique double skin Aluminium box gutter system. This system has been incredibly popular with Edwardian conservatories, as it is specially constructed to allow the rainwater to be gathered and dispersed evenly without any chance of leaking at all. This system allows twigs and leaves to be carried down the Aluminium box gutter system, keeping the water ways free and not overflowing into the new Edwardian conservatory.
The result
Mr and Mrs Brown and their family are extremely pleased with their new Edwardian conservatory in Worthing, West Sussex. They have created a beautiful lounging and dining area. Used daily, it has greatly enhanced their enjoyment of both their home and their garden. Not only that, their stunning sunroom has increased the value of their property!
