The challenge

The company invited hospices in the greater Merseyside region to apply for a bespoke conservatory to be installed at their premises. Many applications were received, and the challenge was to choose the most deserving case. Clare House, a hospice on the Wirral, Merseyside was in need of a bereavement counseling room. From the many deserving establishments, Extend-A-Room felt that this site in Merseyside was an ideal one for location of one of their upvc lean to conservatories. The site of the garden room would be important, bearing in mind its proposed use. The conservatory had to be in a quiet and attractive part of the grounds, but still attached to the main hospice building in as practical a position as could be achieved.

The solution

Once the position was established for the new upvc conservatory at Clair House on the Wirral, Merseyside, the company needed to bring in their qualified surveyors to make sure the design, size and style of the new garden room was technically suitable in every way for the specific site.

Part of this new design was to introduce panels to the right hand side of this upvc conservatory. This was to give the feel of a room to its occupants, rather than looking out through glass to a brick wall and unsightly pipes at Clair House Hospice on the Wirral, Merseyside. The panels also added a certain privacy to the garden room.

The upvc conservatory at Clare House on the Wirral was designed to be in a light oak finish to complement the existing buildings perfectly. On the remaining two sides, low light oak solid panels were incorporated to the bottom of the new garden room.

The result

There are many upvc conservatories in Merseyside, but Clair House are delighted with their finished garden room, which was designed specifically for them. Its fresh and attractive look has integrated perfectly into the exisiting buildings, and their new conservatory has provided a very comfortable space in which the hospice can continue to provide a most valuable service to its users.
